Specialist & Hospital Care

If a GP would like you to be referred to the hospital for further investigation, they will send the referral to the Choose and Book Service who will offer you choice as to which hospital you would like to attend.

They will give you a booking reference number for you to contact the hospital to arrange an appointment. If there are currently no available appointments you may be placed on a waiting list with the hospital who will then contact you when an appointment becomes available.

Once the referral has been made from the GP to the Choose and Book Service you will need to contact the hospital direct to chase the referral, if required.
